This was a totally random, last minute personal project. Well, that’s not entirely true. I’ve always loved the idea of capturing various baby parts, but we tend to think of that in terms of newborns & small babies.
He will be turning 2 1/2 next month and starting preschool 2 days a week then, but sometimes I still want to remember how small he is, how much of a baby he still is amongst the toddler attitude, adult like conversation, and gross boy stuff that generally exudes from him.
Today we were eating lunch in the living room and he spilled juice all over his shirt and pants, then insisted he take them off. What was left was one naked, pure, beautiful little boy swimming in beautiful light. It was macro time.
I love that these showcase all the little things I love about his sweet little being; from his perfect highlights (jealous!) to his peach fuzz shoulders and back, to his ‘button’, and his freckle he likes to point out on his chest. These are the little things that might be gone in 2 months or 2 years, but are they are so beautiful and so HIM right this minute.
(I also love that I literally processed these in less than 20 minutes!) I hadn’t planned on any big project to come from this, but each one of these will be ordered in a canvas and scattered down the long hallway leading to his room, playroom, and bathroom.
