Nashville TN engagement photography | What Love Looks Like

Over the summer I received an email from a potential client. These emails usually don’t make me cry,  but Audrey’s did.  You see, Audrey wanted a couple session with her partner. Only, because her partner is named Heather, she felt she needed ask if I would even shoot them. Totally broke my heart.  It is mind boggling to me that not everyone can feel they have the same rights and security as others. It’s sad that my son will grow up in a world like this and I just hope it can change more and more every year because it’s just not fair.

Not only would I shoot their session, but I would be honored to.  To make it even more special, I learned that Audrey was surprising Heather with the session for their 4 year anniversary. I love surprises, but I can never pull them off, so I was so excited to meet up with them and find out Heather still had NO idea what was going on until I pulled out my gear.

I’m blogging this session today, September 20th, 2011 in honor of the great stride our country has (although long overdue) taken in lifting the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” military policy.

So…meet Audrey & Heather. Two of the sweetest women I know.
