This franklin, tn maternity session is especially special to me … because it’s my own.

I didn’t have any photos taken with my 4 year old because I didn’t feel “pretty” (that hasn’t changed, I’ve just learned to embrace pregnancy and myself) and more so didn’t have the direction of a professional photographer (in myself, or who I planned to hire) to bring that out in me, coach me on what to wear, and how to best do them.  Over the years photographing pregnant woman I have realized that NO ONE feels how they truly look when they’re pregnant an there is so much your photographer can do to help you prepare and look & feel your best.   This time around, I’m celebrating our sweet Annie as much as photographically possible; both while she’s inside and outside.

My vision for my own maternity session included my beloved field, lots of beautiful golden light, and flowing lace and softness in pastel, neutral colors.  I’m so thankful to my best friend and wedding photographer Megan with Megan McGee Photo who jumped at the chance to be part of this memory by taking these for me and allowing me to edit them to fulfill my vision.  I really wasn’t quite sure what to expect (from myself) and am so thrilled I have these.

It was an unusually cold (25 degrees) afternoon in which we headed out to the field for a few minutes to create the images that will last a lifetime for Annie.  I already have one my favorite eco-friendly heirloom session albums ordered and can’t wait to choose large prints for the nursery.

All clothing was borrowed out of my studio closet which is filled with these dresses, and more, for my maternity clients.
